According to Barlone and Tilp's PRR Lettering and Paint Book, Pullman LW sleepers assigned to the PRR were painted in FOM scheme. All Newly built LW sleeper's from 1946-1948 were painted in Solid...

One of us has bad info. I will get you the County and City names, but I am pretty sure the LW cars came in two distinct waves. 1938 - 1940 and then 1949 (perhaps 1948 into 1950). There would have been...

Diesell48,Thats OK, I have a list of PRR Light Weight Sleeper Names. What I do need is to know what "Falls", "County", " Creek" and " City" series Sleepers were re-painted from FOM to solid Tuscan in...

The "CREEK" series were postwar lightweights - construction starting in January 1949, were NOT ever painted in the FOM scheme. The BROOK series were 12/5 prewar sleepers.

TV's info concurs with mine. I would also add that they should have always said "Pennsylvania" and not Pullman because their whole existence was after Pullman breakup. If you model, the...

One last note here, if memory is working the "Falls" cars came in both prewar and post war orders. The latter would never have seen FOM. Check your sides against some pix (perhaps you already have...

Bill, Can you tell when the " Falls" and " Brook" Series cars were built ? Thirties or after 1948 ?Thanks,

Guys,I gotta ask this for my own tangled information, what about on some tracings "part of 142 cars purchased from Pullman 1945". I went looking at Gary Spears site and his links to Rob's tracings and...

What Confuses me is that th LW Pullmans Sleepers Paint and Lettering Scheme Schedule is so much Dilfferent then the HW.Sleepers i.e. There were Pullman HW Sleepers painted Solid Tuscan with " PULLMAN...

Eric,I wouldn't use the diagram on Rob S's site as a painting diagram. I think your painting plan sounds good. There were several heavyweights, both betterment and standard cars, that received FOM...

This has proven to be a good topic. Even though I haven't found a pix yet, my theory is that some or the prewar lightweight cars MUST have been in Tuscan and sid "Pullman". Certainly there were a few...

Just another nutty detail I noticed last night after we talked about it, Bill. The 1938 cars, regardless of what they were, as they were painted in Tuscan with the upper and lower striping, those cars...

I think you'll find (it's been a while since I looked) that the 12-4 and 12-5s are completely flipped if you call the vestibule end the "a" end. Now you are going to make me see if thats true with...
